World Academy for Endurance Medicine

Who can apply for membership?

Only entities organizing mass participation endurance events can be members of the Academy. These include endurance events of any kind and across all sports:

• All World Athletics-labelled road race organizers and their volunteers receive complimentary membership in the Academy.
• Non-World Athletics-labelled endurance events (local road races, cycling races, triathlon races, …) can register with an annual membership fee. If your event is interested in joining the Academy, please contact us at info@endurancemedicine.org.

The Academy does not currently offer an individual membership option. If you are not associated with an event member, please consider engaging in Academy activities by consulting our freely available material under resources and attending our continuing education activities.

Academy Activities

All Academy members have access to e-Learning content designed to deliver comprehensive training in endurance safety and medicine to the race medical staff (healthcare professionals and volunteers). Learning modules and resources outline and discuss best medical practices learned from experts in the field and state-of-the-art research. In addition to the e-Learning modules, the Academy organizes regular certification for its member’s race medical directors through the Race Emergency Medical Course.
